  Meet Our Executive Director Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Ordained Interfaith Minister Board Certified Professional Counselor Certified Thanatologist (death, dying, & grief) Certified Hypnotherapist Certified Parent Educator Reverend Dr. Finestone began her career 35+ years ago, as one of the founders of a rape crisis center, and served as its executive director for 5 years. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Lic. #47627), with many years of experience conducting individual and group therapy. She is a Board Certified Professional Counselor, a nationally certified thanatologist (death, dying, and bereavement), and a licensed, ordained interfaith minister with many years of experience in hospice as an interfaith chaplain and as a therapist. She has worked with persons of all religions, and continues this interfaith work in the pastoral counseling services that she conducts in her role as pastoral counselor with The House of Ruach. She is trained and certified in hypnosis, with 30+ years of experience. When requested, she may use hypnosis to help resolve psychological issues and/or spiritual concerns. Her areas of particular strength include loss issues, grief, end-of-life issues, spiritual issues, PTSD, depression, abortion, rape and incest. - Ph.D., Pastoral Ministry w/ specialization in Interfaith Chaplaincy

Some persons seek nonjudgmental assistance, focusing entirely on secular psychotherapy, hypnosis, or grief counseling. Others for specialized techniques (ex., hypnosis) that use spiritual language and imagery to help them connect with the Source of All Healing. Others request pastoral assistance for spiritually-based counseling, as they seek to find, identify, or heal themselves. Others because they want a therapist who understands their spirituality or religion, but they do not want religiously-based counseling.

A: Reverend Finestone served for many years in hospice, providing end-of-life care as an interfaith chaplain and as a therapist. She leads a ministry of persons with a special calling to help the dying. As available, a volunteer may go to the person's home, residential facility, or hospital and offer support, counsel, or prayer; or help the person make peace with their life or imminent death; or, read from their holy book.
